E3 often involves a defrost-cycle sensor or evaporator-temperature path on Uline refrigeration. Some Uline series flag E3 when the defrost element or its sensor disagrees with what the control expects during a normal cycle.
You may see frost build-up at the back wall, water in the drip tray, or warmer cabinet temperatures over several hours. Do not chip ice off coils—that bends fins and damages refrigerant tubing.
